Happy Asian New Year!! It's the Vietnamese New Year, Tết, as well. Chúc mừng năm mới! An khang thịnh vượng. I wish for all of you a prosperous and lucky year. I'm a Sheep. Yay!! (Also called a Lamb, Ram, or Goat.) As for my zodiac description... that site linked to above seemed actually pretty accurate, though most other descriptions I've read seemed to depict Sheep as rather contrary creatures, which I'm not. But I'm definitely the quiet, introspective artsy type. And as always, the job description says 'actor'. It's fate. <3

Happy Pooh Day, everyone!!! :3 Call me a sentimental dork for it, but I'm still in love with the Pooh books. They're the stuff that's built of magic (and a bit of fluff and honey, too) that keeps nightmares at bay and washes away time and heals quicker than medicine. I pity the child who grew up without some Pooh bear in their life! That being said, I've always loved Tigger the best. He's so silly!! But as for identifying with... I guess when I was little I was always the Christopher Robin, the kid with waaaay too many stuffed animals but could never bear to part with any of them because they're all so special.

I think maybe Meggie from Inkheart, I'd give anything to visit Eleanor's house/library, go through every last one of her adventures no matter how harrowing, and besides, she can read herself AND her favorite characters in or out of any book at any time! Or maybe Violet Baudelaire, from The Series of Unfortunate Events. Yes, her life sucked, but she met the world's most wonderfully eccentric people, lived in a steampunk era (yay steampunk!), and I love her costumes. I'd love to be able to invent things like she does, too. But really... I think I'd most absolutely love to be Anne from Anne of Green Gables. But... wait... hey, that's right, I WAS her!! And I'd ever so gladly do it all over again. <3

| Tonight was so cool.
First the Halloween party, which went better than I think anyone thought it could've. Only like, 6 people thought I did it! Yay! And 50's music is so much better dance music than modern stuff, everyone was dancing and having a blast. Afterwards we accidentally lost Emma on the way to the park. Then we seriously climbed a mountain, got eaten by pricklies on the way up, and found a grave.
It was awesome.
Cancer walk at 7am tomorrow morning! I'm stoked. :D

Oh shiz... The Giving Tree horrified me even as a little kid! My mom loved the book, but I couldn't stand to have it read. I thought it was a cruel story, and it made me upset every time. I mean, seriously... little kids view that tree as a person, not an inanimate object! It's basically a story of suicide/murder with consent. Frickin' leech of a boy. Of all the many books I devoured as a child, that one was rarely nibbled, to say the least.

| The cold in the air is so potent. It contains the scent of memories that can only be felt and not thought, like visiting the house you grew up in twenty years later. Instant time machine. Magic.
I think that if I believed in past lives, I'd have been a cloud in a past life. Or maybe in a future one I'll be part of the sky. Hm.

| What is with me and alliteration? Seriously. It must be my all-nighter curse or something... (OH NOES 'SOMETHING''S A BRYER NO-NO WORD!). But anyways, so either I'm just tired and getting delusional (hey... I've used that word like, 3,000 times tonight!) or every single sentence I write in my essay has all of these crazy clever words that all start with the same letter. Unintentionally. And this isn't the first time it's happened! When I did my summer work and was up until 5am, I re-read it and I had all of these amazing alliterations ("bicycles to Bokonon" WHAT?!). Yeah. Wtf, mate! Whatever the case is, I'm pretty sure I'm going batty. And I've still got a couple more paragraphs to write. :P Well, at least they'll rhyme... | |
