You know, I neglect this LJ far too much, hmm... I guess I just never have anything to say. I've always been that way. If there's anything to endure, I endure it in my head. Maybe it's obstinance. Maybe I've always been just too independent for my own good. Maybe I'm afraid to trust my thoughts with anything, ESPECIALLY the intarwebs! Besides, I'm not all that interesting, and for me it feels like there's a pressure to make all of my entries sound like something vaguely Makani-or-Tealin-esque. Whatever. I's craaazy.

Oh, Happy April Fool's Day, btw! And most importantly... HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRED AND FORGE! Missing you, Fred and Ear, hope you've got a cushy cloud up there!

22nd-Jul-2007 08:45 pm - Finite! (spoiler-free)
books

It's finished. I've finished it. At 8:41pm PST, the 22nd of July Year 2007, I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling. I won't spoil anything, won't say anything about the details unless it's in a protected chat forum or in real life to people who've finished it too, not for months and months. But I don't care what people will think about this book--JKR said people would hate it, and I bet they will, because there's really no way around it and people will be all, "Aww, my theory just got crushed, waaah..." But in my opinion, this is the most beautiful, tenderly, delicately woven story, perhaps one of the greatest books written in all history. I love it, I love it to pieces, I've been sobbing since Chapter 34, I think, and there's no more beautiful way for it to have ended, to it to have come to pass, that's how it is, it was, it will be forever and ever and ever and no matter what ruddy fanfic some daydreaming, ignorant, cynical, haughty jerk comes up with, it's the most beautiful, the greatest tale ever, and no one can ever change it.

I don't want to RP Harry Potter RPs anymore, not the ones I was in, anyways. They've lost all their luster and appeal, putting words in the mouths of dead men and attempting to change what happened to them and their family and their lives by pretending. It's the same bloody despicableness as bad fanfic. Wishing is nice, but it's for children. I wouldn't change what JKR wrote, not for the world. It's too beautiful. It's hallowed, in a sense... my mum probably thinks I'm mad, for crying. She still doesn't quite understand why people get so connected to characters, to books, to stories, to worlds... perhaps she never will.

I was wrong, on a lot of points. We all were. And I'm very, very glad we were.

books
So here we are, less than 32 hours before the most anticipated book of all time is released to the world... and I'm bonkers mad excited!!! 8DDDD It's going to be so awesome... but I'm really sad, too. It's been over a year now since I first was handed Prizoner of Azkaban by my apprehensive-looking mother, and in that year it feels like a major portion of my entire life has been devoted to learning about, debating, arguing, drawing, dreaming about, reading and re-reading and re-re-re-reading everything to do with the Potterverse I could possibly get my eager little hands on. I've got a copy of GoF from London. I have all of the books, hardcover and paperback. I can tell you how many pages are in OotP and HBP combined (1152, exactly). But before long, all of the anticipation, all of the lengthy forum debates and flaming and outpouring of theories, it's all gonna be over with. And then I shall cry, because half of the coolest characters ever are going to be dead, the rest will be slaughtered by fanfic, and not even Makani's gonna be able to do those killer wicked scenes justice!!

BUT NOT YET. 8D I've still got my say to be had, don't I?

Of course, you've probably heard so many theories from everyone else, it's like, "NUUU NOT AGAIN PLZ SAAAAVE MEEEEEE T.T", but I want to get what's been brewin' in my brain for the past year out in ink before it's too late, so bear with me! ^^ Huzzah, here we go...

In general, I believe that Book 7 is going to be a highly climactic, extremely tense, adrenalin-boosting book with constant (though subtle) references to things such as blood, corpses, hair, jewels, the color of seemingly insignificant objects, and many sleepless nights. The Weasleys, Ginny expecially, Hagrid, graduated Gryffindors, the Order of the Phoenix, and yes, Fawkes, will all play highly important roles. What do all of these things have in common? It's simple-- THE COLOR RED. As I've re-read the last two books, my theory (well, it's a stolen theory, but I believe it nonetheless) on the process of alchemy has been fortified. And dude, it's CREEEPY!! O.O Alright, so if you don't remember the alchemy thing or have no clue what I'm talking about, go to http://www.mugglenet.com/editorials/spinnersend/se07.shtml, that's where I first stole the idea and it explains EVERYTHING so much better than I could. :3 But since you're much too lazy... Basically, in alchemy, there's 3 phases the Seeker (hence Harry's Quidditch position) must go through to obtain the Philosopher's Stone: the Black, the White, and the Red. Which, I believe, are marked in the series by the 5th, 6th, and 7th books, respectively. Who died in book 5, the Black phase? Sirius Black. Who died in book 6, the White Phase? Albus (means "white") Dumbledore. Who will die in book 7, Red Phase? Rubeus (means "red, ruby") Hagrid, and now some other who I will later mention. That's the basic gist of it. Most people overlook that in the series, and I usually use it as a defence for my "Hagrid's gonna die gloom-and-doom" rambles, but suddenly... it's all too clear that Jo really had alchemy in mind when she wrote the series. She left major hints, subtle though they be.

Okay, to understand this next part, you have to know that I believe that for the 3 Alchemical Books of the HP series, the stories actually begin at the end of the previous book! For example, OotP truly began at the end of GoF during Ch. 36: Parting of the Ways. HBP began during Dumbles' and Harry's conversation in his office succeeding the battle at the DoM. You get the picture. Now, in the beginning of all of these stories (my beginnings), they are all characterized by a conversation Harry has with characters who will have heavy significance in the next book. It's scary just how Jo planned these out. You see, in the next-to-last chapter of GoF, Harry is in Dumbledore's office. There are 3 people/creatures in the room with him: Sirius, Dumbledore, and Fawkes. A feeling of hopelessness begins to set in upon Harry and the reader. One year later, Harry's in Dumbledore's office again. Sirius has just died. Dumbledore and Fawkes are in the room with him. Brilliant, holy, white imagery fills the pages, from Dumbledore's beard to the marvelous, blinding sunrise behind him. Then, lastly, exactly one year later, we find Harry in Dumbledore's office one last time, surrounded by the Order of the Phoenix, the Weasleys, and Hagrid. Over the entire conversation, the chilling lament of Fawkes the Phoenix rings loud and clear. The Black Phase died. The White Phase died. Now, here stands the Red Phase. The thing that made this really stand out to me was when I was reading OotP, the sunrise scene.

"He paused. Harry watched the sunlight, which was sliding slowly across the polished surface of Dumbledore's desk, illuminate a silver ink pot and a handsome scarlet quill." (American Edition, p 828

JKR didn't put that in there for filler space; she's never done anything like that. The silliest little detail, I know, but I think the silver ink pot stands for Dumbledore and the scarlet quill stands for Fawkes (and, subsequently, the Order). She does this with all the books. Just think--if you close your eyes and picture, in one moment, all of OotP, you'd probably think of something dark and dreary and angsty and depressing. It would be bright, silvery white, holy, and full of wisdom for HBP.

So what this all boils down to: Hagrid will play a major role in helping out the Trio find Horcruxes/reveal lots of stuffs/be super kule Key Keeper/etc. Fawkes will return and save the day. The Order of the Phoenix will play major roles. Ginny and her shining red mane will be all bad-grass and totally pwn things up. Weasleys will rule the world. You'll feel a sudden urge to wear something red, or perhaps eat a shiny apple. Then Hagrid and the Order get to die. (: Tada! What?! All that ramblecrud for THAT?! Yup. I'm 'tarded. Now for something new!!

Alright, now that I've got my super-annoying alchemy predictions out of the way, here's the big one-- who will die? NOT HARRY. He lives. The end. Voldemort will die, or maybe suffer a fate worse than death, which I can't possibly fathom but Dumbles said so SO THERE. Snape's going to sacrifice himself for Harry, Wormtail's gonna die repaying his life-debt, and Bellatrix is going to have her cackling head handed to her lifeless corpse by the all-pwning Neville (*squee* <333). I don't think that any of the Trio's going to die, though if anyone does it will be Ron sacrificing himself for Harry (book 1 parallels, etc.), though I really don't think he'll die, more like get injured, because he and Hermione have to get marrrrried and survive to pwn all of the H/Hr shipper's behinds and be the cutest ship this world has known. Ginny HAS to make it, because she has to shove Harry's Spiderman Monologue in his face after turning Umbridge into a toad and squishing her bloody guts out. And Bill's suffered too much to die, Charlie's relatively insignificant, so either the twins or Molly or Arthur will die. :/ Hurts, but that's what we call probablity. I want Lupin and Tonks to survive SOOO BAD, but they're clearly doomed and will be all cute and sacrifice themselves for each other. I'm just hoping that JKR does his character justice before we say goodbye... I miss the old Lupin.  McGonagall, as new Headmistress, will live and be perfectly okay because JKR just won't go and kill another Headmaster for the heck of it, besides, she's got to live to see Harry graduate from Auror training.... Malfoy has to die, because he's such a coward and he's hated by both sides, there's no way he can avoid getting what he deserves. And of course, Hagrid and countless Order memebers, because I really do love Hagrid so much, and JKR wants to make us cry and isn't going to go back on her well-laid out plan all of a sudden.

Snape, Snape, Se-ve-rus Snape: He's good, and I owe it all to Mugglenet for changing my mind. (: THANK YOU!! Because he's TOTALLY good, there's no way around it! Even Lupin said it, "It comes down to whether or not you trust Dumbledore’s judgment. I do; therefore, I trust Severus". Lupin AND Dumbledore trust him. Gotta be true. Anyways, what point would he being bad serve...? None. So he's good, and the oblivious/Voldie/Cissy get PWND and Bellatrix gets to scream "I TOLD YEW SOOO!!" before getting zapped by Nev. ^^

Other randomness I can't think up categories for right now: Harry's going back to Hogwarts. Luna will find a Crumple-Horned Snorkack and prove us all wrong. Harry is a Horcrux, and because of that book 7's going to suck because it's just like laaaaaame. -.- RAB is Regulus, no brainer... With Hagrid's help, the Trio will go to Godric's Hollow... DH=Horcruxes...Either Hermione will teach any random subject or Neville will teach Herbology. Ernie Macmillan will be the next Minister of Magic. Susan Bones will take over her auntie's job and NOT get killed in the process. The Creevey boys are going to revolutionize the talking mirror industry. Winky is the next Dark Lord.

The end!

In other news, I got my hair cut... just sort of trimmed a few inches off, but the stupid lady cut my bangs 4 inches and they're chin length and basically annoy the heck out of me. >< Hopefully they'll look good with my Hermione costume tomorrow, if that's the only thing they're good for!
