13th-Aug-2007 07:09 pm - Onward ho!
pirates, global warming

Oregon's beautiful and we're staying an extra day. Well, today was our extra day spent, actually... yesterday we arrived in Ashland and went to the superfamous Shakespeare Festival at night. We saw Taming of the Shrew and IT WAS THE BEST SHAKESPEARE PERFORMANCE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! And I've seen lots of Shakespeare, trust me. It blew me away. I can't figure out who's more brilliant--Shakespeare, the director, or the actors. I want to see it again. <333

So anyways, before the play started, we wandered around for a while, and we HAD to stay another day, no way around it. It's gorgeous. It's got all of these little random shops and restaurants on narrow cobblestone streets and streetlamps and trees and rolling hills and cute little Victorian houses with picket fences. It remind my mum and I so much of France. O the nostalgia!! The first night we ate dinner at this Mexican cafe thing (only so much cooler than that, creekside seating yo) and this guy who waited on us spoke Spanish, Italian, French AND English and grew up in So Cal!! He had a conversation with my mum in Spanish and French and wouldn't give me and my cousin our food until we asked for it in Spanish. 8) He. Was. So. Flibbin. Cool. I wouldn't mind living there. They've got amazing weather, too!! My cousin has her house picked out and everything. ^^ It takes a magical town to make you completely forget what country you're in.... So yeah. We stayed and wandered around today and I got a sword/letter opener (EXCALIBUR HECK YES MAN) that pwns all reason. Siriusly. Now I am using the hotel's internet while my parents sleep and my cousin reads. The joys of travel!

So I should, unless we are ambushed by angered leprechauns, overturned by flatulent tree spirits or elsewise postponed, I should be home Thursday night! :) Much love.
